Marriage of Miss Bentley of Bakewell. At the Wesleyan Chapel, Bake well, yesterday, Miss Ethel Bentley, eldest daughter of the Rev. Joseph Bentley, Wesleyan minister, was married to Mr. Cecil Frederick Groom, youngest son of Mr. Richard Groom, J.P. and County Alderman, Dothill Park, Shropshire. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Thomas Allen, of Sheffield, who was assisted by the Rev. W. W, Ward, Manchester, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and the Rev. Joseph Bentley, father of the bride. The best man was Mr Charles Groom, and the bride was given away by her father. The bride wore a dress of white nun's veiling, trimmed with lace embroidery, with pearls, orange blossom, and lace veil. She carried a lovely bouquet, and wore a gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. She was attended by five bridesmaids, viz.. Miss Connie Bentley, Miss Bentley (Horsforth), the Misses (two) Mayes (Stockport), and Miss Elliott (Curbar). They wore dresses of blue and pink nun's veiling, and white hats, and gold bangles, the gifts of the bridegroom. As the newly-wedded pair left the chapel the "Wedding March" was played. Later in the day the happy pair left for Bristol, en route for Cornwall. Merry peals were rung at the Parish Church during the day.
